Almorie Nagayi, a 19-year-old from Masaka City, has been crowned Miss Uganda 2026/27, becoming the country’s latest representative to the Miss World pageant.
Nagayi won the title at the Miss Uganda grand finale held at Sheraton Kampala Hotel in the early hours of Sunday, October 11, 2026, beating 21 other finalists.
She succeeds Trivia Elle Muhoza, who handed over the crown at the ceremony.

Nakato Bridget Prudence was named first runner-up, while Lukia Balunywa finished second runner-up. Mulungi Angel Liz won the Miss Popularity title through a public vote.
According to the Miss World organisation, Nagayi will represent Uganda at the Miss World 2027 competition, scheduled for September in Tanzania.
Her crowning comes as the Miss Uganda Foundation marks 15 years under the leadership of Brenda Nanyonjo.

Beyond the pageant, Nagayi’s Beauty With a Purpose project focuses on financial literacy and vocational training for women and girls. The initiative aims to equip young women with practical skills in managing money, starting small businesses and building independent incomes.
Nagayi has also expressed an interest in diplomacy and international relations, a passion she traces to her participation in a Uganda Model United Nations conference.
She lists her mother as her role model and enjoys swimming, modelling and travelling.

In a social media post reflecting on her participation in the Early Careers Program, Nagayi thanked the United States Embassy in Uganda and the American Centre for providing opportunities for young people to learn and pursue their ambitions.
“Greatness isn’t given, it’s earned,” she wrote.
The grand finale featured performances by Abeeka Band, Grace Nakimera and Karole Kasita, as guests celebrated the competition’s anniversary and awaited the announcement of the new queen.

Nagayi’s next task will be to prepare for Miss World 2027, where she will compete against representatives from other countries.
Uganda first participated in Miss World in 1967, represented by Rosemary Salmon. Nagayi will continue that tradition as she takes the national title onto the international stage.
