Bell Obafest: Uganda Breweries Promotes Sustainability and Inclusivity

Uganda Breweries, through its flagship beer brand Bell Lager, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable business practices and responsible consumption ahead of the highly anticipated Bell Obafest festival. 

The three-day event, scheduled for October 18-20 at Jahazi Pier Munyonyo, aims to promote inclusivity, diversity, and environmental stewardship.

As part of its 10-year sustainability action plan, Society 2030, Uganda Breweries targets to make measurable progress on the 13 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Lillian Kansiime, Bell Lager Brand Manager, emphasized Uganda Breweries’ commitment to sustainable business practices, encouraging moderation and responsible drinking throughout the festival.

She noted that this will be done through partners like Coca Cola Beverages Uganda and Safe Boda.

The event is premised to attract over 20,000 revelers, as it returns for the second time in a three-day beer celebration marked with various beer activities social impact drives.

While handing over a UGX 10M and 100 cartons of drinking water contribution, Fiona kemigisha, the Ag. Channel & Trade Marketing Manager Coca Cola Beverage Uganda, noted that CCBU is driven by actively encouraging informed choices and balanced lifestyles for their consumers and this partnership is a testament towards this commitment as the official hydration partner at the Bell ObaFest.

Calvin Mukooli from Safe Boda, highlighted discounted and secure rides for all revelers throughout the three days.

He expressed the need for continued partnerships to guarantee consumer safety.

Once again, Bell ObaFest is partnering with Asante Waste Management to ensure proper waste management during and after the festival.

Kansiime noted that by prioritizing sustainability and inclusivity, Uganda Breweries sets a positive example for businesses in Uganda, promoting a safer and more responsible entertainment experience.
