Sand Cranes assistant coach Bashir Mutyaba was happy with the result but said that they improved on their mistakes following their loss against Senegal.

Uganda will now wait for Senegal’s game against Tanzania to determine the fate of its position to the next level. The Sand Cranes are praying for Tanzania to lose against the hosts to help them secure a place in the semi-finals.

Group A has only three teams, Senegal, Uganda and Tanzania after DR Congo withdrew from the tournament a few days to the kick-off. This is the first time Uganda is playing in the finals of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.

The Sand Cranes however has a chance to play in the Beach Soccer World Cup if it qualifies for the final of Afcon Beach Soccer. Both finalists will secure their tickets to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Russia 2021.
