KAMPALA — The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is set to release a series of major statistical reports between April and May 2026, following a revision of its dissemination calendar.

UBOSPrincipal Public Relations Officer, Didacus Okoth, said the updated schedule adjusts timelines that had earlier been communicated on March 3, 2026, and confirms new release dates for several key surveys and census products.

“We have revised the dissemination calendar for completed surveys and census reports, and the updated release dates for key statistical products are now confirmed through May,” Okoth said.

He revealed that UBOS will on April 9, 2026 publish the National Population and Housing Census 2024 Community Module (Volume VI) on its official portal.

“The Community Module captures vital data on health, education, agriculture, manufacturing, services, and environmental risks such as landslides, which is critical for planning, policy and informed reporting,” Okoth explained.

He added that the report will provide deeper insights into community-level realities across the country. “This module gives planners, journalists and the public a clearer understanding of service access, livelihoods and vulnerabilities within communities through official statistics,” he said.

According to UBOS, the Labour Market Survey Report 2025 will be released on April 16, followed by the National Human Resource Survey—also known as the Manpower Survey—on April 23.

Okoth noted that the labour and manpower reports will provide key data on employment trends and workforce dynamics to support national planning.

The Census of Aquaculture is scheduled for release on April 30, with UBOS highlighting its importance in assessing Uganda’s growing fish farming sector.

“The aquaculture census will help quantify the number of players in fish farming and better assess the sector’s role in boosting agricultural productivity and supporting the wider economy,” Okoth said.

Meanwhile, the Baseline Education Census Report has been rescheduled from April 9 to May 14, 2026. Okoth said the findings are expected to generate critical data to inform Uganda’s education sector planning and reforms.

The Uganda Business Inquiry 2019/2020 report will be released on May 21, tracking indicators such as construction patterns, value addition and sales across sampled businesses.

Okoth emphasised that all reports will be accessible to the public upon release. “All the reports will be uploaded on the official UBOS website on their respective dissemination dates, ensuring timely access to official statistics and survey findings,” he said.

The revised calendar underscores UBOS’ role in providing reliable data to guide policy, planning and decision-making across sectors.
