The launch kicked off the powerful “Ekijja Kijje” (Come What May) campaign — a celebration of the resilience, readiness, and determination of Uganda’s boda boda community, one of the country’s most dynamic and entrepreneurial groups.

Castrol Power 1 Motorcycle Oil is engineered to deliver superior engine protection, smooth acceleration, and enhanced performance—qualities that are essential for Uganda’s boda riders, who depend on their motorcycles as their main source of income.

With the campaign’s rallying message, “An oil that protects your boda is an oil that protects your dreams,” RUBiS and Castrol underscore their shared belief that supporting riders means protecting livelihoods and empowering families.

Speaking at the launch, William Fillet, Managing Director of RUBiS Energy Uganda, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fueling the spirit of Uganda’s hardworking riders:

“At RUBiS Energy, we understand the importance of a functioning engine and the urgency of time in your business. A breakdown is not just an inconvenience—it’s lost income and added worry. We deeply admire your perseverance and drive, captured perfectly by the phrase ‘Ekijja Kijje’—a declaration of resilience, preparedness, and unstoppable determination.”

The event created an engaging and memorable experience, further strengthening Castrol’s leadership in motorcycle lubrication and RUBiS’s position as a trusted mobility partner. Insights from riders revealed that engine protection and reliability remain their top priorities, reflecting the vital role motorcycles play in sustaining their livelihoods.

Olivia Nahwera, Fuel Sales and Specialities Manager at RUBiS Energy Uganda, emphasised both the functional and emotional value of the new product to the boda community:

“Castrol Power 1 speaks directly to the rider’s daily reality—ensuring engine protection, reducing maintenance costs, and keeping their hustle moving without interruptions. This oil delivers performance, protection, and smooth riding all in one. It safeguards your ability to provide, making it not just an oil, but a partner in your journey. We encourage every rider to trust the oil that protects what matters most.”

The “Ekijja Kijje” campaign recognises the boda rider as an entrepreneur and the backbone of Uganda’s transport sector. It also spotlights mechanics as critical influencers in the riders’ purchasing decisions, reinforcing their role in promoting product performance and awareness.

The launch of Castrol Power 1 Motorcycle Oil marks a major milestone for RUBiS Energy Uganda, strengthening its commitment to innovation, reliability, and empowerment within Uganda’s growing transport and mobility ecosystem.
