Jinja — The Kingdom of Busoga is buzzing with jubilation as His Majesty, Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV, and Her Majesty, Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi, joyfully welcomed twin sons on August 27, 2025.

In an official statement, the royal couple shared their overwhelming happiness and heartfelt appreciation. The newborns and the mother are all in “high spirits and excellent health,” and the family is truly “overwhelmed and humbled by the magnitude of this double blessing.” They also extended warm thanks to all well-wishers for their love, prayers, and support.

This joyous news marks a historic moment for the Busoga Kingdom, strengthening the royal lineage and filling the hearts of Basoga with renewed pride. Traditionally, the birth of twins in Busoga and across many Ugandan cultures is regarded as a unique blessing, symbolizing abundance, divine favor, and continuity.

Celebrations are expected to sweep across the Kingdom, with cultural leaders, subjects, and friends of Busoga likely to organize thanksgiving prayers and festivities to honor the safe arrival of the young princes.

The Kyabazinga, enthroned in 2014, has been a unifying symbol of Busoga, while Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi, whom he wed in a colorful royal wedding in November 2023, has brought grace and renewed admiration for the royal household. The birth of their sons cements a new chapter for the monarchy and for the Basoga people.
