The PRAU Excellence Awards were established to highlight outstanding achievements in Uganda’s Public Relations sector and to celebrate the creativity, professionalism, and leadership demonstrated by PR practitioners and institutions across the country.

Speaking at a press conference, PRAU President Irene Nakasiita underscored the importance of the awards, noting that they serve as a critical platform for elevating professional standards in the PR industry.

“The PRAU Awards are implemented under our five-year strategic plan guided by two main objectives: contributing to professionalism and regulation of PR practices through high ethical and professional standards, and enhancing the value proposition for our members,” Nakasiita said. “Our vision is to build a community of Public Relations practitioners who uphold the highest standards of professional practice in Uganda.”

She added that the awards highlight the significance of PR in organisational and national development. “Through the PRAU Excellence Awards, we can demonstrate the impact and contribution of PR to growth and sustainability. We appreciate all our partners who have supported us along this journey,” she said.

Nakasiita called on the PR fraternity and professionals who value the craft to purchase tickets and participate in celebrating this year’s winners.

Ticket prices are set at UGX 250,000 for PRAU members, UGX 300,000 for non-members, and UGX 100,000 for students. A corporate table for ten will be available at UGX 3 million.

This year’s awards feature 13 categories:

  1. Best Media Relations and Media Management
  2. Best Event/Experiential
  3. Best Internal Communication/Employee Engagement Campaign
  4. Best Crisis Communication
  5. Best CSR and Sustainability (merged with ESG Report)
