H.E. Nabwire Rose has been declared the newly elected Guild President of Makerere University Business School (MUBS), garnering the highest number of votes among all candidates.
The announcement was made via the official MUBS Twitter account.
According to official results, Rose swept the race with a commanding 2,255 votes, outperforming all her competitors by a wide margin. Her closest rival, Lukwago, secured 1,242 votes, while Taban trailed with 827. Mayeku came in fourth with 89 votes.
The breakdown by faculty shows Rose’s overwhelming support across the board. She received massive backing from the Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA) with 636 votes, the Faculty of Computing (FOC) with 450 votes, and the Faculty of Procurement and Logistics Management (FPLM) with 222 votes.
This victory makes Nabwire Rose one of the few women to ascend to the MUBS guild presidency — a significant milestone in the institution’s student leadership history. Her campaign, grounded in inclusivity, innovation, and student welfare, clearly resonated with the student body.
Social media is awash with congratulatory messages from students, staff, and alumni, all praising her determination and calling this a win for women in leadership.
