That shared sense of nostalgia is expected to come alive this Saturday when the Baileys and Tusker Cider Millennials Picnic takes over Canary Gardens, bringing together music lovers for an afternoon of live performances, food and shared memories.

Millennials were among the last generations to grow up through several eras of music consumption. They witnessed cassette tapes give way to CDs before embracing streaming, and experienced a time when a hit song belonged to almost everyone. Whether it played on the radio, at school dances or at family gatherings, music created shared experiences that defined an entire generation.

The outdoor event will feature performances by singer-songwriters Kenneth Mugabi and Naava Grey, whose soulful catalogues have become part of the soundtrack of adulthood for many Ugandans. The entertainment lineup also includes DJs Selector Jeff, Real DJ Lennon, Sal DeJay, Slick Stuart and DJ Matson, who are expected to take revellers through classic RnB, Soul, Ugandan hits and nostalgic favourites.

Beyond the music, the picnic promises a carefully curated food and drink experience. Baileys, the smooth Irish cream, complements desserts and coffee-inspired treats, making it a natural fit for a relaxed afternoon outdoors.

“Baileys has always been about indulgence and bringing people together over life’s sweetest moments. The Millennials Picnic reflects exactly that spirit; an afternoon of laughter, meaningful conversations, great music and shared experiences, where every sip complements the food, the desserts and the atmosphere. We are proud to help create moments people will remember long after the music stops,” said Nansikombi Nancy Evelyn, Brand Manager, Baileys East Africa.

Tusker Cider, which has become synonymous with Uganda’s outdoor social experiences, adds another dimension to the event. Its crisp, refreshing taste pairs naturally with picnic foods and complements the relaxed, easy-going atmosphere that has made food-led lifestyle events increasingly popular.

“Picnics are about bringing people together over good food, great music and unforgettable moments. Tusker Cider has become part of that culture because its refreshing taste perfectly complements outdoor experiences, making every shared moment even more enjoyable,” said Sandra Againe, the Tusker Cider Brand Manager.

The event comes at a time when nostalgia-driven experiences continue to grow in popularity across Kampala. Gatherings such as Baileys Old School RnB, Strictly Soul and similar themed events have demonstrated a growing appetite for experiences built around familiar songs rather than fleeting music trends. This Saturday, Canary Gardens will become a meeting point for people who remember when one song could unite an entire crowd, proving that while technology has changed the way people listen to music, the memories those songs create remain timeless.
