President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who also serves as Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), convened a meeting with the army’s High Command to evaluate Uganda’s security landscape and review the country’s strategic priorities.

The meeting, held at State House in Entebbe, centred on consolidating national stability and reinforcing Uganda’s defence posture amid evolving security dynamics.

During the engagement, the President commended the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, senior commanders, and rank-and-file officers for what he described as their “discipline, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding Uganda’s peace and sovereignty.”

President Museveni further reaffirmed the government’s resolve to enhance Uganda’s defence capabilities, emphasising the importance of maintaining security as the country advances its broader social and economic transformation agenda.
