ENTEBBE, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted The Rt. Hon. Baroness Chapman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, at State House, Entebbe, where the two leaders discussed ways of strengthening the longstanding partnership between Uganda and the United Kingdom, with a particular focus on investment, trade, and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, President Museveni urged British and other European investors to increase their investments in Africa, saying the continent presents vast opportunities for economic growth, industrial development, and mutually beneficial partnerships.

The President noted that increased investment in Africa would accelerate value addition, industrialisation, job creation, and the expansion of trade between African countries and Europe, while delivering shared prosperity for both regions.
President Museveni also welcomed Baroness Chapman to Uganda and commended the strong and cordial bilateral relations that continue to exist between Uganda and the United Kingdom.

The meeting was attended by Hon. Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; Her Excellency Lisa Chesney, the British High Commissioner to Uganda; alongside other government officials and distinguished guests.
