President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Democratic Party President, Norbert Mao new  Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

“By virtue of the authority conferred on the President by Articles 113(1) and 114 (1) of the 1995 constitution of the Republic of Uganda, I hereby appoint persons below as Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State,” Museveni said through his official Twitter handle.

Mao’s appointment  comes just a day after the DP signed an agreement of cooperation with the NRM.

Mao signed on behalf of DP and Museveni signed on behalf of NRM.

Museveni also appointed Hamson Obua as the new Government Chief Whip replacing Thomas Tayebwa who was elected Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

Hon Peter Ogwang, has been appointed as the State Minister for Sports.

Agago Woman MP,  Beatrice Akello Akori has been appointed as the new State Minister for Economic Monitoring Office of the president.
