The National coordinator for the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED), Joseph Kabuleta, has urged Ugandans to stand up and fight for what belongs to them.

Addressing members of NEED at their offices in Bugolobi Kampala, Kabuleta noted that many Ugandans are suffering because their natural resources like land, oil, gold, among others, are being grabbed by those in power.
He noted that in Uganda, there are two kinds of parties, the exploited and the exploiters.

“There are two major parties in Uganda, the party of the exploited and the party of the exploiters, We all belong to one of the above and the exploiters are just one family,” he said.

Adding, “It is time for the exploited to stand up and fight, it is time for Ugandans to discuss the ideas, challenges and solutions to some of the issues affecting them.”

He revealed that Uganda is facing a resource curse, noting that a number of villages with minerals have been displaced.

Kabuleta noted, “We are awakening people to the fact that they have a right to some of the wealth that are in their lands.”

Former Mengo minister, Owek. Israel Mayengo said Ugandans need to change the current constitution, establish a revolving leadership.

“We need to amend the constitution and remove the office of the president and opt for an executive commission with revolving leadership,” said Mayengo.
