“It is alleged that on August 25th ,2017, while in his sugar plantation, he was arrested by police officers who tortured him injuring his left eye,” Ssekate said.

“Despite the fact that the eye was bleeding, he was detained and released the following day after his relatives gave a bribe of shs.100,000 for police bond.”

According to Ssekate, Tibesigwa was later admitted at Mengo hospital from where his eye was removed.

He said that the accused will be arraigned in court to answer charges of torture. He warned that police will not tolerate any officer who tarnishes its name.
