20 Confirmed Dead, Scores Injured in Fort Portal Link Bus Accident

Police is investigating circumstances under which a Link Bus registration number UBA 003S overturned along Fort Portal – Kyenjojo road, leaving scores dead and others injured.

In a brief statement, Faridah Nampiima the public relations officer, Traffic Police Directorate, said so far 20 people have been confirmed dead, out of whom thirteen are adults while 7 are juveniles.

“Out of the twenty, 11 are male and nine are female,” she said, adding that their particulars will be availed in due course.

She said the injured have been rushed to Buhinga hospital for first aid while the dead are at the same hospital for post-mortem.

The bus, was traveling to Kampala from Fort Portal, when the accident happened 2KMs from Fort Portal city at a place called Sebitoli.
