A team of Turkish tour operators and influencers has completed a successful familiarisation trip across some of Uganda’s most iconic wildlife destinations, in a concerted effort to promote the country as a top-tier tourism and investment destination for the Turkish market.

Organised by the Uganda Embassy in Ankara in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the expedition offered the guests a firsthand experience of Uganda’s stunning biodiversity and tourism potential, positioning the country as a prime location for both leisure travel and ecotourism investment.

“Mission accomplished!” declared the Uganda Embassy in Ankara on social media. “The team enjoyed a successful tour of the Big Five in the breathtaking landscapes of Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa. Magical encounters with majestic wildlife showcased Uganda’s diverse ecosystems—a true haven for wildlife enthusiasts.”

The itinerary included a visit to Murchison Falls National Park, where the group experienced thrilling game drives and up-close views of elephants, lions, giraffes, and the powerful falls themselves. They stayed at Entiko Safari Lodge, immersing themselves in authentic Ugandan hospitality.

From there, the team flew with AeroLink Uganda to Kasese, continuing their journey at Park View Safari Lodge, near Queen Elizabeth National Park—another gem in Uganda’s tourism crown.

The group explored the park’s rich wildlife offerings and scenic landscapes, gaining deeper insight into the unique safari experiences Uganda provides.

“Uganda is a diverse travel destination,” the Embassy posted. “It features vibrant cities rich in cultural heritage and expansive national parks filled with wildlife. It offers a wide range of experiences, from urban exploration to nature adventures.”

The team also experienced gorilla trekking for the first time in Uganda’s Ruhija sector, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, during a 10-day familiarisation tour. They were absolutely thrilled by the experience.

The visit was part of Uganda’s strategic campaign to deepen bilateral ties with Türkiye by promoting inbound tourism and attracting potential investors to its fast-growing tourism sector.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that the familiarisation trip was not only designed to market Uganda’s natural attractions but also to open the door for Turkish businesses to explore investment opportunities in eco-lodges, adventure tourism, aviation services, and cultural tourism development.

As Uganda looks to rebound from global tourism disruptions and reposition itself as “The Pearl of Africa,” such targeted outreach initiatives are expected to play a critical role in unlocking new tourism markets and strengthening international partnerships.
