The Minister for Security Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde has urged NRM supporters to remain united and moblise masses to elect only Party supporters during next month LC I elections.
Gen Tumukunde made the remarks while in a meeting with sub county NRM executives , NRM leaning councilors and opinion leaders at Kebisoni sub county, in Rukungiri district Oct 20th.
He noted that the LC 1 election were very vital for the strength of the ruling party and said that its the duty of the supporters to ensure that LC 1 Chairperson seats are won by strong party enthusiasts so as to continue with zeal for the party to remain in power.
Tumukunde who talked at length asked the leaders to desisit from which hunting each other saying that will breed intrigues and weaken the party giving the opposition to take LC leadership from them which will weaken the party.
On the issue of the Age limit, Gen Tumukunde clarified that its already an issue that will be determined by Members of Parliament and the majority decision will be respected by Ugandans.
He said that there is no need to shed blood over the Age Limit debate, because the issue is being handled by competent institution of Parliament and therefore other people should desist from inciting the masses over the matter to the extent of shedding blood.
Gen Tumukunde asked the leaders to guide the people on matters of agricultural production so that incidents of famine that ravaged the country recently are not repeated.
He said that at an opportune time he will traverse the entire country educating the people on issues of economic survival and food security other than engaging in issues of politicking.
