Singer and actress Evelyn Nakabira also Known as Evelyn Lagu is dead.

The singer fondly referred to as Evelyn Love, was confirmed dead on Monday morning in Kampala after a protracted battle with a kidney disease.

In the past few years, Lagu travelled to Turkey for a kidney transplant but was advised to continue undergoing dialysis, they reasoned that a transplant could lead to her earlier death.

It is reported that she passed away upon arrival at home after taking dialysis.

Some of Lagu’s songs include I Love You, Akalulu, Mbulira, Ntengereze, Nkusaba Kubanange, Ssikyatya and Nyabula, among others.

Lagu was born in Kalungu, Masaka, on June 1, 1982, her parents died when she was a child.

She went to Aga Khan, Mityana SS, Pride SS Mityana and finally, St. Peter’s SS Busubizi, where she completed her A’levels in 1999.
