Killed Member of Parliament for Arua Municipality, Col (Rtd) Ibrahim Abiriga will be buried on Monday, according to the program released on Saturday.

Abiriga was assassinated on Friday evening along with his bodyguard, Kongo Buga Saidi said to be his relative, while driving to Abiriga’s home in Kawanda near Kampala.

The program indicates that the body of late Abiriga which on Saturday morning was at the city mortuary at Mulago hospital in Kampala will thereafter be handed to A Plus Funeral Services and Uganda Police.

The body will then be taken to the funeral home in Kawanda in Wakiso district.

Tomorrow, Sunday June 10 at 7am in the morning, Abiriga’s body will be taken to Kibuli Mosque to be prayed for. After the prayers, the body will be transported to Parliament where it will lie in state. MPs will hold a special sitting to honour their fallen colleague.

At 2pm on Sunday, the body will be taken to Kololo airfield and flown to Arua where Abiriga is expected to be buried.

Upon arrival in Arua, the body will be taken to Anyafio in Arua Municipality where a vigil will be held.

The former legislator will be laid to rest on in Lukudu village, Eramva parish, Rhino Camp sub-county in Lower Madi constituency, Arua district.
