Nile Breweries Limited (NBL) has officially launched Kyooto Waragi, a new spirit that marks the company’s entry into the waragi category. The launch event, held at the Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala, brought together government officials, business leaders, distributors, media representatives, and consumers to celebrate the introduction of a product designed to provide a smooth, enjoyable drinking experience.

As the company behind some of Uganda’s most iconic brands, such as Nile Special, Club, Bell Lager, Eagle Lager, and Castle Lite, Nile Breweries continues to evolve with consumer preferences while upholding its long-standing commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence. Kyooto Waragi has been developed to offer consumers a spirit they can trust. The product features a secure quality seal that maintains the integrity of the liquid, is approved by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), and is crafted to deliver a smooth taste with no harsh aftertaste.

During the launch, Nkanyiso Mncwabe, Managing Director of Nile Breweries Limited, stated, “Today marks an exciting new chapter for Nile Breweries as we officially introduce Kyooto Waragi to consumers across Uganda. For decades, consumers have trusted Nile Breweries to deliver brands that bring people together and create memorable experiences. Kyooto builds on that legacy by offering a quality spirit that reflects our commitment to excellence, innovation, and meeting the evolving needs of our consumers.”

He added, “Every product we bring to market carries the reputation and standards that Nile Breweries has built over many years. Kyooto is no exception. From the quality seal that protects the integrity of the liquid to the smooth finish that defines the drinking experience, every detail has been carefully considered to ensure consumers enjoy a product they can trust.”

Wangechi Gitahi, Country Marketing Lead at Nile Breweries Limited, also spoke at the event, saying, “Kyooto has been developed with the Ugandan consumer at the heart of every decision we made. We wanted to create a brand that feels familiar, relevant, and enjoyable while delivering the quality experience that consumers expect from Nile Breweries.”

The launch featured immersive brand experiences, entertainment performances, product sampling, and the official unveiling of Kyooto Waragi, giving guests their first opportunity to experience this newest addition to the Nile Breweries family. Kyooto Waragi is now available across Uganda through Nile Breweries’ distribution network and is expected to be rolled out nationwide in the coming weeks.
