In a soul-stirring fusion of music and memory, Uganda prepares to witness the Grand Finale of the National Martyrs’ Choral Festival on Saturday, May 31, at the Kampala Serena Conference Centre.

Under the moving banner “They walked in faith. We sing in honour,” the festival, sponsored by Equity Bank Uganda, will unite choirs from across the country in tribute to the Uganda Martyrs — the young believers whose sacrifice continues to inspire generations.

Set to begin at 2:00 PM, this year’s edition promises an unforgettable evening of rich harmonies, spiritual depth, and cultural reflection. Choirs from both Catholic and Anglican traditions will take centre stage, presenting powerful compositions that echo the courage, conviction, and legacy of the martyrs.

The event is not only a musical tribute but also a competitive celebration. The best-performing choirs stand a chance to win up to UGX 36 million in cash prizes, bringing together artistry and recognition for excellence in choral performance.

“Come witness the sacrificial spirit of the Uganda Martyrs as told through choral music,” the organisers urged in a statement. “This is more than a concert; it’s a sacred moment of national remembrance and artistic elevation.”

An Ordinary Pass goes for UGX 50,000, and a VIP Table (for 8) will cost UGX 2,000,000.

With support from Equity Bank and Vision Group, this event is backed by Uganda’s most respected institutions, combining faith, finance, media, and music in one powerful evening.

The National Martyrs’ Choral Festival is part of the annual lead-up to Martyrs’ Day on June 3, honouring the 45 young men who were killed for their faith between 1885 and 1887. Through the universal language of song, this festival renews their story for the next generation.
