Kampala, Uganda – January 8, 2025: The Inspector General of Police, Abbas Byakagaba, has Wednesday shuffled police leadership in changes that take immediate effect.
The changes saw ACP Norman Musinga, who has been serving as the Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Busoga East back to Kampala as acting Deputy Traffic Police Director.
These changes aim to strengthen operations and enhance the force’s efficiency in key areas.
According to the official press release, the following officers have been reassigned to new roles:
AIGP Musana Geoffrey has been transferred from the Directorate of Welfare, Production & Sports to the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan, where he will serve as the Police Attaché.
SCP Sakira Moses, previously stationed at the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan, is returning to the Directorate of Research & Planning as Deputy Director.
SCP Halango Timothy has moved from the Directorate of Research & Planning to the Directorate of Welfare, Production & Sports, also as Deputy Director.
CP Mubangizi Ben has been reassigned from the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety to the Ugandan Embassy in Algeria, where he will assume the role of Police Attaché.
CP Ssebambulidde Charles has transitioned from Agriculture Police to the Directorate of Logistics & Engineering, taking up the position of Acting Deputy Director Classified Stores.
CP Acaye Philip has been appointed as Commandant of Agriculture Police, moving from the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety.
In the statement, the Uganda Police Force extended its congratulations to the officers on their appointments and wished them success in their new roles.
These strategic deployments are expected to enhance the force’s operational efficiency and further its mission to serve and protect Ugandans.
The IGP continues to emphasise the importance of placing experienced and qualified officers in key positions to address evolving challenges within the force and the nation at large.
