GOMBA, Uganda — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has held talks with Türkiye’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Mehmet Fatih Ak, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting took place on Monday at President Museveni’s Kisozi Farm in Gomba District, where the two leaders discussed areas of mutual interest aimed at deepening collaboration for the benefit of both Uganda and Türkiye.
In a brief statement shared after the meeting, President Museveni said the discussions focused on issues important to the two nations.
“Today at my Kisozi Farm in Gomba District, I met H.E. Mehmet Fatih Ak, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Uganda. We discussed issues of mutual interest for the benefit of our peoples,” Museveni said.

The meeting comes as Uganda and Türkiye continue to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties, with cooperation extending to areas including trade, investment, infrastructure development, education and technology.
Türkiye has in recent years increased its engagement with African countries, including Uganda, through trade partnerships, development cooperation and private sector investments.
The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1969 and have continued to expand their partnership through high-level engagements and bilateral cooperation frameworks.
