President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has bid farewell to Sudan’s outgoing Ambassador to Uganda, Ahmed Ibrahim, following the completion of his four-year tour of duty.
President Museveni received Ambassador Ibrahim at State House Entebbe on Tuesday for a farewell meeting, during which the diplomat expressed appreciation for the Ugandan Government and people for the support and hospitality extended to him and Sudanese nationals during his tenure.
Ibrahim said he had come to regard Uganda as a second home, particularly praising Uganda’s solidarity with Sudan following the outbreak of conflict in April 2023.

He commended Uganda for hosting Sudanese nationals who sought refuge in the country amid the conflict, describing the gesture as a reflection of the longstanding friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
The ambassador said the support extended by Uganda during the crisis would remain deeply appreciated by the Sudanese people and contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.
President Museveni thanked Ibrahim for his service and contribution to strengthening relations between Uganda and Sudan.

He wished the outgoing envoy success in his future assignments.
The farewell meeting comes as Uganda and Sudan seek to maintain their longstanding diplomatic and people-to-people ties amid the continuing conflict in Sudan.
