Ugandan artist Mungu Feni has concluded participation in the star-studded Showbiz101 2026, a seven-day creative industry programme organised by bridgeAFRIC in Lagos, Nigeria.

Held from June 23 to 30, 2026, the initiative brought together African creatives and global industry players with the aim of connecting talent to international opportunities through education, collaboration, networking, and music production. Workshop sessions were hosted at Alliance Française Lagos in Ikoyi, alongside an intensive music camp set in a private mansion equipped with five studios, a media lounge, gaming facilities, and collaborative workspaces.

Organisers noted that the programme was designed to address critical gaps in Africa’s creative sector, particularly in education, intellectual property awareness, and sustainable income structures.

Operating under the theme “Connecting African Creatives Globally,” Showbiz101 2026 convened artistes, producers, executives, investors, publishers, managers, policymakers, and creatives from across Africa and the diaspora.

According to the organisers, this year’s edition focused on key areas including education, market access, networking, content creation, branding, wellness, and investment pitching. Participants engaged in masterclasses, collaborative music sessions, talent showcases, and high-level industry networking activities aimed at positioning African creatives for global success.

The initiative’s broader vision, organisers said, is to empower African creatives with “knowledge, access, and global opportunities while fostering cross-continental collaborations and producing global hits.”

Commenting on Mungu Feni’s participation, organisers described him as one of Uganda’s recognised rising artists. “Mungu Feni has built a career rooted in excellence, purpose, and community. Through powerful music, authentic storytelling, and a growing international presence, he has earned multiple accolades across Africa, including Artist of the Year and Best New Star Gospel Artist,” they noted.

His music has garnered millions of streams across digital platforms and reached audiences through major media outlets such as Trace Gospel and TBN Africa.

Beyond music, Mungu Feni represents a new generation of creatives leveraging their influence beyond the stage. As the founder of Mungu Feni Records and the Mungu Feni Foundation, he has combined entertainment, leadership, and philanthropy to create opportunities for young people and communities, demonstrating that music can be both impactful and transformative.

Speaking about his experience, Mungu Feni expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the international music camp.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this incredible music camp. Being surrounded by amazing talent, inspiring conversations, and limitless creativity has reminded me that music truly has the power to connect people across borders. Every session is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build meaningful collaborations,” he said.

His career has also seen him collaborate with respected artists and industry figures, including Levixone, Skerz on the Beatz, and Fiokee, further expanding his reach across the African music landscape and strengthening his position as a voice for creativity and change.

The workshop sessions at Showbiz101 were structured into five tracks covering music business, branding and media, alternative income and legal frameworks, wealth and wellness, and creative industry collaborations.

Discussions centred on contracts, copyright, publishing, branding, distribution, investment strategies, mental health, networking, collaboration, and stage performance.

In addition, participants received complimentary mental wellness checks and access to psychological support, underscoring organisers’ commitment to promoting well-being within the entertainment industry.

Founded virtually in 2020, Showbiz101 transitioned into physical editions in 2023 and has since been hosted in several African countries. The platform now attracts more than 500 participants annually and has facilitated multiple collaborations between African and diaspora creatives.
