The PCA, an intergovernmental organisation headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, was established in 1899 to facilitate arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution between states.

Over the years, it has evolved into a modern, multi-faceted arbitral institution, catering to the complex dispute resolution needs of the international community.

Kirunda’s appointment is a significant milestone for Uganda, highlighting the growing recognition of the country’s legal expertise on the global stage.

In a statement on Twitter, Makerere Law School celebrated the achievement, calling it a testament to Kirunda’s expertise and dedication to the field of international law.
