Legendary musician Maddox Sematimba is set to headline the 14th edition of the Pilsner Lager-sponsored Rukundo Egumeho on Sunday, December 1, at the Indian Association Grounds in Lugogo. Sematimba will perform live alongside Western Uganda’s singing sensations, including Ambroy, Gboy Revins, and Lift Jesus Choir.
The event promises to deliver a wholesome musical experience, as well as a modern cultural experience and appreciation of the Bakiga community. The Pilsner Lager Cultural Village will come alive with music and dance, food and drinks, and crafts that showcase the beauty of Kigezi.
According to Edgar Kihumuro, Uganda Breweries Brand Manager for Pilsner Lager, Rukundo Egumeho has experienced remarkable growth since its inception.
“Rukundo Egumeho has become an important cultural celebration that honors the heritage of the Bakiga people and brings together various communities, promoting unity and pride,” Kihumuro said. “Our sponsorship reflects our dedication to supporting cultural events and community growth.”
Kihumuro added that this year’s celebrations promise to be a beautiful tribute to the lasting spirit and culture of the Bakiga people. Tickets for the event are available at UGX 20,000.
