Jumia Uganda has launched this year’s “Jumia Black Friday”, the biggest sale to enable customers to “Save More Than Money” with up to 60% discount on all their favourite products.

The leading e-commerce platform in Uganda unveiled the 2023 campaign at Fairway Hotel in Kampala promising a bigger, better and more impactful drive with unparalleled savings and exceptional shopping experience.

Speaking at the launch, Jumia Uganda CEO, Vinod Goel, said the platform is in a much stronger position with growth and improved unit economics.

“Jumia has been growing in most of the categories of products and is also focusing on some non-electronics such as books, sports, music and kids’ products,” noted Vinod.

He said Jumia’s strategy to expand outside Kampala is bearing fruit with revenues outside Kampala growing significantly.

“Sharp shipping fees, reduced delivery timelines, relevant assortment to the upcountry market and mobilisation of a network of more than 5000 active J Force agents have resulted in making Jumia a preferred shopping destination in upcountry markets,” said Vinod.

He said Jumia is not only proud of its digital and trade impact in Uganda but also unveiling its platform as the most promising destination for digital marketing.

“Jumia has more than 550,000 monthly active users with a very relevant economic and demographic profile,” revealed Vinod, adding:

“There is a huge interest from sellers, third-party brands and advertising agencies to optimise their marketing by using this unique channel.”

dfcu Bank unveiled as the Platinum Sponsor

dfcu Bank was for the second year running, announced as the Platinum Sponsor for the 2023 Black Friday campaign which will be held in partnership with Jumia Uganda.

Black Friday gives Ugandan customers the opportunity to enjoy massive savings across a wide range of products that include clothing, gadgets, household appliances, personal care products and foodstuffs purchased off the Jumia Uganda platform.

As the Platinum sponsor for the campaign, dfcu Bank will give its customers discounts of up to 25% on their shopping on Jumia’s platform, made with dfcu’s Visa Debit or Credit Cards. The month-long offer will run from 1st to 31st November 2023.
