The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gen Jeje Odongo, has bid farewell to the outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Natalie Brown.

This happened Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Headquarters in Kampala.

He thanked her for strengthening the cordial relations Uganda and the USA enjoy.

He wished her good luck in her next assignments.

On August 15, 2023, Brown attended the launch of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) pioneering initiative to protect Uganda’s mountain gorilla population by leveraging technology to create sustainable sources of non-trekking revenues to fund conservation activities in gorilla parks.

“Imagine exploring the world of mountain gorillas through the palm of your hand! Glad to have attended the launch of the ‘My Gorilla Family’ app yesterday, an initiative for the conservation of mountain gorillas,” she said.

“I’m optimistic the app will engage users while raising awareness about the need to protect these magnificent creatures and their habitats while fostering a deeper understanding of the urgent need for conservation,” she added.

According to her, supporting the means supporting the surrounding communities.

She said through the partnership with Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), USAID addresses the challenge of gender-based violence and promotes sustainable responses for adult literacy and Batwa children in Kanungu in South Western Uganda.

Natalie E. Brown is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of Minister Counsellor.

In 2019, she was nominated to be the Ambassador to Uganda, and her nomination was confirmed on August 6, 2020.

She arrived in Uganda the weekend of October 31, 2020, and presented her credentials on November 17, 2020.
