“The 7 year old boy was beaten badly by the father on the head and died instantly before he could be taken to the hospital,” said Okema.

Okema revealed that it is alleged that the father of the boy, identified as Omony Denis, 30, beat up the boy for refusing to put on school uniform as he never wanted to go to school.

Omony Denis has already been arrested and is currently detained at Pader Police station pending legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s body is at home, awaiting a police surgeon to undertake a postmortem before it can be handed over for burial.

Police say the suspectwill be produced in court next week and likely to be charged with murder.
