Pearl Bank’s mobile wallet, Wendi, has launched a weekly rewards campaign offering customers fuel vouchers, smartphones, household appliances and cash prizes for making digital transactions worth at least Shs10,000.
The campaign, dubbed Wendi Ku Win, was launched on November 6, 2026, at Kampala’s Old Taxi Park in partnership with the Uganda Taxi Operators Federation (UTOF).
Under the campaign, customers who transact more than Shs10,000 through the Wendi mobile wallet will qualify for weekly draws featuring various prizes.
The rewards include fuel vouchers worth Shs30,000, Shs50,000 and Shs100,000, smartphones, household appliances such as microwaves and blenders, and cash prizes of Shs100,000.
Andrew Kabeera, Pearl Bank’s Executive Director, said the campaign was intended to encourage more Ugandans to embrace digital financial services while rewarding existing and new customers for using the platform.

“Wendi Ku Win is not only targeting customers who conduct weekly transactions but also showcases the commitment of Wendi to developing innovative solutions that empower customers to take greater control of their financial future,” Kabeera said.
He said the campaign would encourage customers to use the wallet for fuel payments, utility bills, money transfers, savings, merchant payments, government collections and Western Union services.
Kabeera added that increasing the use of digital financial services would help bring more Ugandans into the formal digital economy.
According to the Bank of Uganda’s July 2025 report, active mobile banking users increased by 16 per cent from 2.17 million in March 2024 to 2.5 million in March 2025.
The volume of transactions also grew by eight per cent, from 27.7 million in the year ending March 2024 to 29.9 million in the year ending March 2025.
Transaction values increased by 42.4 per cent, from Shs9.9 trillion to Shs14.2 trillion over the same period.
These figures point to growing adoption of digital financial services and opportunities for platforms such as Wendi to extend access to financial services, particularly in communities with limited physical banking infrastructure.

Wendi also offers a savings product with an advertised annual interest rate of 12.5 per cent, allowing customers to select savings plans according to their financial goals.
The platform further provides a SACCO management system through which savings groups can manage contributions and monitor their finances digitally in real time.
Kabeera urged Ugandans to register for the service and participate in the campaign.
“Wendi remains focused on delivering innovative solutions that help Ugandans achieve greater financial wellbeing. I encourage our customers and all those who are not on Wendi to either dial *229# via their feature phones or download the Wendi mobile wallet from Google Play or App Store and start transacting and stand a chance of winning in the Wendi Ku Win Campaign,” he said.
