Danze Edwin has been appointed the new Next Media Chief Marketing officer replacing long-serving Pamella Adongo.
Danze, a media practitioner specializing in broadcast media marketing, was recently the Head of Digital Marketing at Next Media and Next communications where his role was to amplify the brand online.
He is a digital marketer, content curator, television show host, producer, gamer, creative media personality, social media influencer, and brand ambassador.
He has over 10 years of experience in digital marketing, where he has worked with leading advertising agencies like TBWA, Fireworks Advertising, Fideli, and Next Com (where he is currently the Head of Digital Marketing).
He has curated and collaborated on global campaigns with Brands like; Deutsche Welle, Voice of America, Activision, Call of Duty Mobile, Warner Bros, Disney and Marvel Studios.
He has worked on Campaigns like; 77% Percent, DW in Good Shape, DW Eco-Africa, Call of Duty Mobile, Games and Politics Exhibition, Africa release Movie Premiers like Joker, Avenger Infinity War, Avengers End Game, Wonder Woman 84, Kong vs Godzilla, Mortal Kombat 2021, Afrimaxx to mention but a few.
Locally, he has worked on campaigns with brands like Crown Beverages, Century Bottling, Nile Breweries, Uganda Breweries, Total Energies, Vivo Energies, Statehouse anti Corruption Unit, URA, NSSF, and so many more.
He is trained by Deutsche Welle, BBC World Services, Voice of America, and the US Agency for Global Media.
In his words, Danze said in the domain, it was just doing social media marketing, which later expanded to more online marketing.
“Then I expanded it and made it more online marketing. We specialize in social media and community management, Curating content from mainly TV. But yes, that was our biggest driver of content and building a huge audience,” Danze said in his recent posting as Head of Digital Marketing at Next Communications.

“I cannot have had streaming capability on social media, especially Facebook, YouTube back in the day. But then we pulled off. So we build audiences mainly on Facebook,” he adds.
He noted becoming the most followed media Facebook account and then getting big on Twitter, was one of his biggest focuses, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
Danze is well-practised, well-trained, and well-mentored. He has had exchange programs with almost all the media partners of the global village Like Borne Germany in 2018 to do a social media week whereby he shared ideas from Africa.
He has also taken in campaigns like AfriMax DW, Eco Africa, and videos for Shaka Ssali in West Jamaica, for example, and created this content online.
“I have managed to digitize the company even before this digitization campaign or transformation campaign that we are on. Our talents have understood how to use social media. They’ve understood how to use video,” he says in part of his achievements.
