The Uganda Cranes conducted day 3 of non-residential training on Wednesday evening at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
It was the first session following interim coach Moses Basena’s release of the 27 man squad today morning to prepare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifier double encounter against Egypt on 31st August, 2017 at the Mandela National Stadium, Nambole.
The training session was full of excitement.
URA FC midfielder Shafic Kagimu who was named in the squad said: “It is another milestone in my life and football career. I have been working so hard for this call up.”
Kagimu was part of the Uganda Cranes team that qualified for the Total 2018 CHAN Finals to be hosted by Kenya.
The midfield nugget added that now he has to defend his call up because it has been based on his good performances.
“I need to work harder not to let down those who have put trust in me. They have been impressed by my performance which I need to sustain or even get better so that I am considered for the final team on match day against Egypt,” added Kagimu
On Thursday, training (double sessions at 9am and 4pm) will still be held at in Namboole.
