Uganda has won the Global Health Supply Chain Summit Award 2022.
“Uganda’s abstract is the winner of the Global Health Supply Chain Summit Award 2022,” announced the Ministry of Health.
The summit is taking place in Dakar, Senegal.
The abstract was on the role of the supply chain in the continuity of health services with a specific emphasis on immunization where National Medical Stores (NMS) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the availability of vaccines.
“Big congratulations to Uganda and the NMS team led by our Principal Vaccines Officer, William Musubire, for bagging the Global Health Supply Chain Summit Award in Senegal,” tweeted NMS.
“Congratulations Team Uganda. Congratulations Jimmy Ameny and team. Proud of the entire Ugandan team for continuously doing a stellar job in the health supply chain pillar,” said Health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng.
“So proud of you team @MinofHealthUG. Let us continue to strive through the challenges,” tweeted Health ministry Permanent Secretary, Dr Diana Atwine.
The delegation included a team from the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, PATH and Jimmy Ameny, Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist at MoH-Gavi.
