One person died in a Sunday morning accident in Nakawa, Kampala.
According to ASP Faridah Nampiima, PRO Traffic and Road Safety, the accident was registered by the traffic police at Jinja Road.
She said the accident involved a motor vehicle reg no. UBJ 053N (a Mercedes Benz) and a train.
The incident happened at the railway crossing near Uganda Revenue Authority (URA offices) at Kinawataka junction.
“A yet-to-be-identified female passenger died on the spot while the driver was rushed to Mulago hospital in critical condition,” said Nampiima.
The body of the deceased has been conveyed to the city mortuary for postmortem examination.
