Former Kazo Constituency MP, Hon Gordon Bafaki, has died in a fatal accident.
The accident happened along the Northern Bypass in Kampala on Tuesday night.
Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa was among the first lawmakers to express their condolences upon Bafaki’s death.
“I am saddened to learn of the death of former Member of Parliament for Kazo Hon. Gordon Bafaki who perished in an accident along the Northern Bypass last night. He was an assertive colleague who pushed for the interests of his people and country. My condolences to the family,” Rt Hon Tayebwa said on Wednesday morning.
Speaker Rt Hon Anita Annet Among described the late as vibrant in her condolence message.
“Our sympathies go out to the family of the late Hon Gordon Bafaki, former MP Kazo County, his friends and the people of Kazo in this painful moment. Such a young and vibrant life brought to a tragic end! We thank him for his services to his country during his tenure as MP.”
Hon. Gen Elly Tumwine: “My family and I are saddened by the untimely death of Hon Gordon Bafaki. We, therefore, condole with his family and the people of Kazo District, who he represented in the 10th Parliament. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Molly Nawe Kamukama: “As is; it’s a sad morning for me, the people of Kazo, the Bafaki family & the country for the loss of Gordon in a fatal accident. Our Former MP, our glue that united us! I will miss you, Kazo will miss you. Gone too soon!!RIP.”
“I am saddened by the untimely death of Hon. Gordon Bafaki my Predecessor and compatriot who laid good foundation for Kazo District. Condolences to the family, friends, Relatives and the people of Kazo upon the demise of our gallant son. May his Soul Rest in Peace!” said Dan Kimosho who defeated Bafaki in the NRM Primaries in 2021 general elections.
A philanthropist, the late Bafaki in May this year donated 100 iron sheets for the reconstruction of three classrooms and the head teacher’s office at Nyakinombe Primary School in Kazo district.
This followed the 14th April 2022 incident where a heavy storm blew off the roof of classrooms.
