He said the key priorities for the financial year 2022/23 include; enhancement of security, rule of law and the fight against corruption, among others.

“Madam Speaker, we continue to make progress in the fight against corruption,” he told Members of Parliament.

Kasaija said there was increased declaration of income, assets, and liabilities by leaders from 25,000 to over 400,000 in 2021, with the increase in the scope of public servants who are required to declare income, assets and liabilities.

“Madam Speaker, to enhance the rule of law and to step up the fight against corruption, I have provided Shs381.6 billion for the Judiciary, Shs95.0 billion for the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, Shs876.4billion for the Uganda Police, and Shs308.7 Billion for the Uganda Prisons Service.”

Kasaija further allocated Shs79.4 billion for the Inspectorate of Government.
