The country has also recorded 9 new COVID19 deaths bringing the number of Ugandans who have succumbed to the disease to 383.

Uganda is experiencing a second wave of the virus and has since witnessed government heighten preventive measures as well as calls from different stakeholders to the people of Uganda to observe the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

While addressing the nation on Saturday last week, President Yoweri Museveni blamed the rising numbers of cases on negligence by the city dwellers that he said have ignored the recommended personal preventive measures against COVID-19.

On Wednesday, the President convened a full scale national COVID-19 task force meeting which recommended several preventive measures to curb the further spread of the disease.

He will this evening at 8pm address the nation later today on the same.

Museveni said on Saturday that the agreed-upon guidelines recommended by the National Task Force meeting will be fully implemented to avoid choking the health system with many cases.
