Aruu country Member of Parliament, Odonga Otto, has come out to strongly criticize the changes made in the National Executive Committee of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) which saw MPs Kassiano Wadri, Paul Mwiru and others dropped.

In an interview with SoftPower News, Otto who is currently out of the country, said that the changes were not effected on merit, but rather “personal egos” of the party’s founding President, Kizza Besigye and the immediate former President, Mugisha Muntu in a show of might.

“FDC division is championed by Dr Besigye and Gen Muntu who are like ants building many anthills and hoping to conquer the whole world which is the ruling National Resistance Movement in this case,” Otto said.

“What is happening in FDC is a battle of personal egos between these two shots from Western Uganda. Unfortunately, they don’t know that after President Museveni, leadership may have to shift to other regions of the country,” added a furious Otto.

He said that the axed former deputy party President for Eastern Uganda, Alice Alaso, and other dropped members are simply victims of the already escalated ego, noting that they are the grass suffering out of the fight by the two lions.

The motormouthed legislator further revealed that he can not continue being party to a political organization which acts out of emotions instead of reason.

“For me, I am on the departure lounge of the Forum for Democratic Change,” he said

In January this year, FDC described Otto as a misguided missile who ought not to be listened to by the public. This was after the Aruu MP declared he would not take part in the ‘Tubalemese’ campaign launched by Besigye.

The campaign sought to rally Ugandans to shun all legislators who had supported the scrapping off of the Presidential age limits from the constitution.

“He is a misguided missile, very inconsistent, unworthy any attention. Some MPs are paid by President Yoweri Museveni whenever they abuse FDC or Dr.Besigye,” said the FDC women’s league spokesperson, Sarah Eperu

At the time, Otto and MPs Oyet as well as Joseph Ssewungu told reporters at Parliament that having done their best to block the amendments and failed, it was time to unite as opposition politicians and strategize saying ‘Tubalemese’ was only going to divide them further.

FDC was registered as a political organisation in 2004 led by mainly members who were disenchanted with the National Resistance Movement, but since then, a number of them have either walked out of the party or went into the abyss.

Even in the recent days, a number of them have quit, among them; Beti Olive Kamya and Christopher Kibanzanga both Ministers now, MPs Gerald Karuhanga and Beatrice Anywar on Independent tickets, Major Rubaramira Ruranga and many others.
