Singer Bebe Cool Dedicates AFRIMA Award to ‘Silent Majority’ and ‘Haters’

Ugandan hit maker, Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool was awarded an accolade for Best East African Male Artiste in the 2018 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held in Ghana on Saturday.

Bebe Cool is a top African reggae and raga musician from Uganda who started his career around 1997 in Nairobi, Kenya before crossing to his native land Uganda.

His competitors in the category were Tanzanian star, Diamond Platinum, his collaborator Harmonize, Juma Jux, Nyashinski and many others.

On his Facebook account, the Gagamel boss said he had dedicated his award to the silent majority, who love him, as well as those that dislike him.

“I dedicate this award to the two sides bad and good, those who love me and those who hate me, the silent majority and the loud minority, the believers and non believers,” the singer posted.

He attributed his victory to the Gagamel family, hard work and honesty.

“This process is comprised of hard work, honesty, belief and loyalty, which virtues must be cherished by those who want success,” said the ‘Want It’ singer.

“I would like to thank all my fans in Gagamel family, Uganda, Africa and the whole world for loving and believing in Bebe cool and for taking your time to vote for me.

He went on to brag that in his music camp, Gagamel, failure is not an option and to remind everyone that he is Bebe Cool.

His post attracted mixed reaction, some people  claiming he had bribed the Awards organizers while on the other hand his fans confirmed that he is still the best  in the music industry both locally and internationally.

Bebe cool was forced to call off public music performances following an incident in August this year when during a concert, he was pelted bottles at by sympathisers of his nemesis, sibger and politician, Bobi Wine.

Bebe Cool has rallied all his fans to come in big numbers on the Tondeka Ekiwatule Mutima Zabu Concert slated 26th December 2018.

On an unrelated issue, the singer commiserated with families that lost their beloved ones in the tragic incident on Saturday in which a boat capsized on Lake Victoria, leaving over 20 people dead, so far.

“On a sad note, my heart and prayers are with families of those who have lost their beloved ones in the unfortunate accident on L. Victoria. May their soul’s rest in eternal peace,” he wrote.
