Former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the death of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, describing his passing as a profound loss to the Kingdom of Tooro, Uganda and the wider region.
In a condolence message to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Kenyatta extended his sympathies to President Museveni, Maama Janet, the Royal Family of Tooro and the people of Uganda.
Kenyatta hailed the late King Oyo for his vision, leadership and commitment to working with both central and local governments to advance the development and wellbeing of his people.
He said the King’s untimely death had left a void that would be felt for generations, while expressing solidarity with President Museveni and the Royal Family as they mourn his passing.
“May the soul of His Highness Oyo rest in eternal peace.”
