Comic actress, Anne Kansiime is upbeat about having won a U.S award that recognized her for role in comedy entertainment.
“Thank you my ninjas because You have loved me, I am constantly accused of being Africa’s Queen of Comedy,” posted Kansiime shortly after receiving the accolade in the U.S.
The comedienne got an honorary award as Queen of Comedy in the 2nd SiikeTv Rising Star Academy Awards.
While Kansiime has done stand-up comedy, it is her hilarious character in her TV series ‘Don’t Mess With Kansiime’ that quickly made her an African sensation. The series in which Kansiime stars airs DSTV’s Maisha Magic East among other platforms including You Tube.
The Rising Star Academy Awards by the online video streaming platform, SiikeTV recognize individuals who have made exceptional contribution in filmmaking, entertainment, influencers and business owners from diverse cultures and backgrounds to celebrate them as Rising Stars.
The Rising Star Academy Awards official website states that the Awards are conferred by board members to honor, recognize excellence and celebrate the hard work, dedication and commitment of Rising Stars in the independent film/entertainment industry.
It adds that the Award that strives to empower talents who shape and evolve the independent film and entertainment industry.
The event is held at the Presidential Ballroom in the U.S and hosted by Kelsey Nelson of FOX Sports and Alexis Alexander.
