KAMPALA — Kampala’s entertainment scene is set for a major boost following the official launch of “Midweek Madness”, a new weekly comedy and entertainment experience at 4Pitchers, located along Kira Road opposite Mulago Hospital.

The initiative, unveiled during a press conference hosted by District 24 Management on Friday, May 29, 2026, 4Pitchers, and Stress Planning, will officially debut on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, featuring some of Uganda’s most celebrated comedians, musicians, DJs, and live performers.

Speaking at the launch, renowned comedian and media personality Isaac Kudzu described entertainment as an essential part of people’s wellbeing and said the venue was strategically positioned to offer Kampala residents a much-needed escape from daily stress.

“One thing I really like is that I belong to the school of thought that believes entertainment is food for the soul,” Kudzu said. “The location of 4Pitchers, just across from Mulago Hospital, perhaps creates another reason for people to come here. You can be sure that while you are here, everything is definitely going to be well.”

He revealed that the inaugural edition would feature an impressive lineup of local talent, including Jackie Chandiru, Maulana and Reign, QKamba and Sunny, Daniel Omara, Sundiata, Artwave Band, and legendary comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi.

“Entry is absolutely free. I cannot emphasise that enough — it is completely free of charge,” Kudzu said. “The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 2nd June.”

He added that the event marks the beginning of a new entertainment offering for Kampala audiences. “We are here to let the world know that the meal is finally ready. Starting on Tuesday, 2nd June, we shall be unveiling a brand-new experience: 4Pitchers Midweek Madness,” he said.

Darlington Nahumuza, a creative entrepreneur and representative of the organising team, said preparations for the event had been ongoing for months and were nearing completion.

“There isn’t much left for me to add because most of it has already been said. What I can say is that we have been preparing for this for quite some time, and now we are ready to serve,” Nahumuza said.

“The Midweek Madness experience is now about 99 percent ready, and very soon we shall be kicking off. 4Pitchers is fully prepared to welcome you. District Management has made all this possible, so what is left is for you to come through and have a good time.”

He added: “This is your place, and we are ready to host you and ensure you have an unforgettable experience.”

Jessie Namwanga, one of the organisers, said the venue intends to redefine Kampala’s entertainment culture by offering experiences throughout the week, rather than focusing on a single event.

“4Pitchers is the home of vibrant entertainment, and what we’re launching on Tuesday, 2nd June, is our Comedy Night,” Namwanga said.

“We want to break the normal routine and give people something exciting to look forward to. We invite you to come through every Tuesday for great food, great entertainment, comedy, laughter, and fun. That is what we’re all about.”

According to Namwanga, the venue has developed a broader entertainment calendar that will cater to different audiences.

“We are not just another entertainment venue. We want to redefine what people expect from a complete entertainment experience,” she said. “For everyone who wants a good time, good entertainment, and good vibes, 4Pitchers is the place to be.”

She revealed that beyond the Tuesday comedy nights, the venue will also host quiz nights, themed entertainment events, game nights centred around major sporting fixtures, and live band performances.

“In short, you are going to find all kinds of entertainment under one roof. We look forward to welcoming each and every one of you. It is not all about comedy—we also have live band performances and many other exciting experiences lined up,” Namwanga added.

Meanwhile, Wakala Simon Peter, General Manager of District 24 Management, assured guests of quality service, security, and hospitality. “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone and assure you that we are ready to serve you and provide quality entertainment for the country,” Simon said.

“We have been preparing for this launch for a long time, and we have worked hard to ensure that everything is in place. We are fully ready to receive all our clients and customers.”

He highlighted the venue’s customer experience offerings, including food, beverages, and security. “Our service team is professional and ready to welcome you. We have reliable security, excellent customer care, and quality food and beverages,” he said.

“At 4Pitchers, guests can enjoy a variety of offerings, including pitchers, cocktails, mocktails, beers, and other drinks. We have created an environment where everyone can relax, enjoy themselves, and have a great experience.”

The launch of Midweek Madness comes as Kampala’s hospitality and entertainment industry continues to recover and expand, with venues increasingly seeking unique concepts to attract audiences beyond the traditional weekend nightlife crowd.

Organisers say the weekly event will offer free entry and feature a rotating mix of comedy, music, live performances, and interactive entertainment aimed at creating a new Tuesday nightlife destination in the city.
