Police at Kira Road in Kampala on Monday foiled an aggravated robbery targeting the Kololo based Sino Hydro Corporation offices.
The suspects who included a HASH Security guard allegedly broke into a house at Mackenzie Valley in Kololo, tied, put on gunpoint and robbed four Directors of Sino Hydro Corporation of Shs 8 million, eight phones, and other items.
On noticing suspicious movements, the residents are said to have alerted Police which responded immediately.
Police say he HASH Security guard identified as Denis Owonda abandoned his gun and uniform and is currently on the run while Ssenoga Peter alias Kiwanuka Joshua, an ex-convict of robbery has been arrested.
It is believed that the alleged suspects’ motive was to rob money intended for payment of Karuma Falls Dam employees.
Police recovered three laptops, eight phones, a pair of binoculars, breaking implements and hooded masks.
Further investigations reveal that Peter Ssenoga had jumped bail on the same charges of aggravated robbery vide CRB 554/2017.
Ssenoga is being detained at Kira Road Police Station as investigations are on going.
