Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has finally announced Eunice Namatembe as the official party flag bearer for Bugiri Municipality MP seat.
This followed a series of meetings with the opposition Justice Forum (JEEMA) party with the aim of coming up with a joint opposition candidate.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters, the party President, Patrick Amuriat noted that there is need to prepare party candidates despite negotiations with other sister opposition parties.
“We had an interactive meeting with JEEMA officials from May 9, we promised to have another follow up meeting on May 17 and unfortunately, the JEEMA officials never turned up, they seemed not to be interested in the meeting,” Amuriat said.

“All I can say at this time, we shall still wait for JEEMA, we are a party that is open to discussions but as we wait, it’s our responsibility to prepare our candidates,” Amuriat emphasized.
Amuriat went on say that the party shall not wait for the talks to happen for them to rush and prepare candidates.
“We are an independent party. We don’t have any Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with any political party at the moment and so, understanding between us and any political party will be a case by case basis and so is our discussions with JEEMA.”
Amuriat went ahead to introduce other 14 party candidates that will vy for the different elective seats noting that the party will do all its best to see that they field candidates at all positions.
