Hyderabad, Telangana, India – In a night that radiated elegance, global unity, and purposeful beauty, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand was crowned 72nd Miss World at the glittering grand finale held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad.
The spectacular event marked the conclusion of a month-long celebration across Telangana, where 108 contestants from around the world immersed themselves in cultural showcases, philanthropic missions, and leadership challenges—all under the banner of Beauty With a Purpose.
This historic occasion marked the first time Telangana hosted the Miss World Festival and the third time for India (previously in 1996 and 2024). With Hyderabad transformed into a vibrant stage of tradition and international glamour, the 2025 edition spotlighted India’s cultural richness and growing stature as a global event destination.

A Crowned Moment of Purpose and Pride
In a captivating coronation moment, Krystyna Pyszková of Czechia, the outgoing 71st Miss World, passed the crown to a radiant Opal Suchata. The Thai beauty queen, known for her intelligence, grace, and social advocacy, received a standing ovation as she embraced her new global role.
In her first address as Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata shared a powerful message: “This isn’t just my victory—it’s the dream of every girl who believes in being heard, being seen, and making change. I step into this role with deep gratitude and an unwavering commitment to purpose.”

Opal also won the competition’s Multimedia Award, topping the official Miss World app leaderboard with over 2.3 million views, underscoring her digital impact and public engagement throughout the journey.
A Celebration Beyond Beauty
Co-hosted by Stephanie del Valle (Miss World 2016) and Indian TV presenter Sachiin Kumbhar, the finale was a blend of glamour and emotion. The audience was treated to high-energy performances from Bollywood stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter, bringing a vibrant Indian flair to the international stage.

Adding to the night’s significance, actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood received the Miss World Humanitarian Award for his life-changing community work, while Sudha Reddy, philanthropist and entrepreneur, was honoured as the Global Ambassador for Beauty With a Purpose.
Former Miss World and Bollywood actress Manushi Chhillar also graced the event, sharing words of inspiration.
Top 40 Quarterfinalists Announced by Region
From a field of 108, the top 40 quarterfinalists were announced—ten from each global region.
Africa: Botswana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Namibia, Nigeria, Somalia, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe
Americas & Caribbean: Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Panama, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, United States.
Europe: Belgium, Estonia, Ireland, Italy, Montenegro, Northern Ireland, Poland, Serbia, Ukraine, Wales.
Asia & Oceania: Australia, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Thailand, Türkiye, Vietnam.

Fast-track events like Top Model, Sports Challenge, Talent, Multimedia, Head-to-Head, and Beauty With a Purpose had already secured placements for some contestants. The rest were selected through personal interviews with the judging panel.
From Top 40 to Top 4: A Global Showdown
The competition advanced through multiple elimination rounds. From there, four exceptional women were crowned continental winners, each representing the best of their regions.
Africa: Hasset Dereje (Ethiopia); Americas & Caribbean: Aurélie Joachim (Martinique); Europe: Maja Klajda (Poland) and Asia & Oceania: Opal Suchata (Thailand).

Final Question, Final Test
In the final round, the Top 4 answered a challenging question that tested their clarity, empathy, and vision. Presiding over the panel, Miss World Chairwoman Julia Morley, CBE, praised the finalists:
