Police has released three people suspected to be part of ‘Kifeesi’, a notorious criminal gang that confessed to murders, that were arrested earlier this week.
The three who include Paddy Sserunjogi, Kasozi Shafiq and Twaha Tim were on Wednesday released on police bond, according to Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima.
Police say that despite their release, investigations into the alleged crimes and the claims that the group was commiting with the help of police officers will continue.
“The three suspects will be reporting back at KMP Headquarters on Friday next week,” Kayima said.
He has asked members of the public that might have complaints against the trio to lodge them at the Kampala Metropolitan Police CID and record statements.
The three were arrested from Nsangi in Kampala for allegedly openly owning up to committing murder on television as well as in recordings that were later circulated on social media.
“On the allegation of working with police officers to commit crime, we want to establish who in the police they work with,” Kayima said on Monday.
