The three who have been granted bail are SPC Katende Faisal, Magada James and Detective coporal Kwarisima Amon have been bonded with 10 million shillings not cash while each of their sureties have been ordered to sign a bond of 5 million shillings not cash.

On top of that, they have been ordered not to move out of Kampala and Wakiso districts without permission from this court.

These have convinced Court that they have fixed places of abode in court’s  jurisdiction, they are sole bread winners for their  families and they  will not interfere with the witnesses.

Hearing of their case has been pushed to February 5, 2017 for mention although the defense team led by Caleb Alaka had objected to this describing it as a delayed trial.

The 7 police officers were arrested last year and charged with the kidnap of 2 Rwandese nationals.

Prosecution alleges that the accused in October 2013, while in posession of a pistol and grenades which are ordinarily a monopoly of the UPDF repatriated two Rwandan refugees Lt Mutabazi and Kaleemera to the Republic of Rwanda without their consent.

They are charged alongside 2 civilians; Rene Rutangugira and Bahati Mugenga.
