Uganda Cranes captain in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) 2018 tournament, Bernard Muwanga has revealed that his experience in other tourneys will be pivotal to the team’s performance in the ongoing bid in Morocco.
While speaking to journalists after the last training on Saturday, Muwanga said that he intends to utilize his rich experience in guiding the young players to offer their best in the tournament.
“I know what is expected of us in this tournament. I will use experience gained from the several games I have played at the senior levels to guide my teammates,” he said.
Uganda with play their first game in CHAN today from the Stade de Marrakech stadium against the Chipolopolo of Zambia.
This is the fourth time in a row Cranes is participating in this continental tournament, but have never vamped out of the group stages.
Cranes lost to Congo Brazzaville and drew against Guinea in their two build up games held in Rabat, Morocco.
Uganda is in Group B alongside Ivory Coast, Zambia and Namibia.
Meanwhile Morocco thrashed Mauritania 4 – 0 in the group A opener.
