Tanzanian music star, Diamond Platnumz has been arrested by Police in Tanzania for sharing videos considered to be explicit on Instagram.
His arrest was confirmed Tuesday by Minister of Information, Arts, Culture and Sports, Dr Harrison Mwakyembe while responding to a question from MP Goodluck Mlinga, who sought clarity on what the Tanzanian government is doing to people who misuse social media platforms.
Dr Mwakyembe told legislators that the ‘Utanipendwa’ singer was arrested for going against the accepted norms.
The Minister warned that social media was not a place for people to post lewd stuff. He said Diamond will be prosecuted for the violations.
In one of the reported videos, Diamond is seen having an intimate and cosy moment with his baby mama, Hamisa Mobeto. Another video show him playfully kissing a white lady while in bed.
It is unclear what charges will be slapped against the star.
Socialite Zari Hassan reportedly dumped Diamond a couple of months back over infidelity issues.
Whereas Diamond has not spoken out on the said videos, many observers say that he intended to taunt his ex girlfriend Zari Hassan.
